Durham & Cleveland Coaches Webinar – March 18th 2026, 11:30am – 14:00pm
Tennis coaches play a vital role in shaping player development, guiding individuals at every stage of their journey, whatever direction it may take. We know the impact tennis can have both on and off the court—it is about far more than simply hitting a ball. Tennis can be truly life-changing, offering a wealth of opportunities and pathways for players to explore.
A player’s journey is rarely linear; it is a dynamic and evolving process. Coaches are often the first to identify key traits and characteristics in young players, and their role is crucial in ensuring those players receive the right support to thrive. This includes showcasing the wider benefits of the sport, particularly given the many uncontrollable factors involved in becoming the next Jack Draper or Katie Boulter.
This course will showcase the new LTA Talent Identification Programme, highlight the wide range of career opportunities within the tennis industry—from coaching and officiating to marketing, volunteering and digital roles—and explore the education pathways available to players in both the UK and the USA. This holistic approach will help retain players in the sport, whether through playing, working or volunteering, whilst also developing invaluable life skills along the way.
The three-hour webinar will be delivered by Phil Wylie (D&C Head County Coach), Jo Cunliffe (Court Craft Education) and Sarah Borwell (Keystone Sports), bringing expert insight and real-world experience to this engaging session.
Coaches who attend this session can apply for LTA CPD Credits through independent Learning, further information will be provided.
