Yorkshire Coaches Day – March 9th 2026, 09:30am – 14:30pm
Yorkshire Coaches Day is a must-attend event for coaches who want to be inspired, challenged, and equipped with practical ideas they can take straight back onto court. Designed for coaches at all stages of their journey, this day brings together high-quality learning, fresh perspectives, and the chance to connect with coaches from across the region.
Headlining the day is former world no. 4 and multiple Grand Slam semi-finalist, Johanna Konta, who will share her unique insights from competing at the very highest level of the game. Johanna will offer an honest, behind-the-scenes look at her career as the longest serving female British #1.
Packed with engaging sessions, practical on-court learning, and thought-provoking discussion, the Yorkshire Coaches Day promises to be an inspiring and energising day. Below is the full timeline of the day, giving you a clear idea of what to expect, and how each session will add value to your coaching.
Coaches who attend can apply for 5 face to face LTA CPD Credits through independent Learning.

Johanna Konta – Presentation and Q&A
An insight into life as Britain’s longest serving no. 1 female tennis player. Johanna, now living in Yorkshire, will offer her unique viewpoint into what it takes to be one of the world’s best. There will also be a Q&A, a chance for Yorkshire coaches to put their questions to Johanna.
John Loughton – Core fundamentals of Under 10 Player Development & Talent ID
Join Yorkshire U10 Head Coach, John Loughton, for an informative course looking at how the four performance factors impact the early stages of development; with a key focus on technique at U10. John has a wealth of experience to bring, from county to international coaching, he will share with coaches how to identify and support talented juniors throughout the county.

Dave Baggaley – Building Your Brand: Marketing Fundamentals for Clubs and Coaches
Dave is a marketing professional with extensive experience of design, branding and campaigns. Join him for an off-court look at how marketing techniques could help to enhance your club programme. With his experience of business support and development, Dave aims to help Yorkshire coaches better understand the vale of marketing their business.
Joe Gill – The Yorkshire Doubles System: Values and Principles to Enhance Doubles Within Yorkshire
Successful coach to renowned doubles players such as Colin Fleming and Maia Lumsden, join joe to take a look at how to develop doubles players across all age groups in the county. Joe brings his wealth of experience as a previous Scottish national coach, along with his time on court with some of Britain’s best doubles players, to explain how coaches can develop doubles in their programmes, and what they can do to establish the Yorkshire Doubles System with their players.
Louise Assioun – Tennis Through a Neurodiversity Lens
Louise brings an enormous amount of experience working across tennis, in inclusive training and coaching. Along with Sue Morrison, Louise is the founder of LUSU sports, a company which provides training, equipment, and consultancy services to ensure everyone with a disability can take part in tennis. Join her for a fun, interactive, on-court session to understand how to embed inclusion in your programmes and venues, and how to build on existing knowledge to coach players who are neurodiverse.
